The Block Buddy didn't start in a boardroom. It started in a dental practice, with a real problem, and a fabricator who knew how to fix it.

The Block Buddy started with a conversation at a dental practice right here in the Carolinas. Nathan Horn and his wife — a practicing dentist — had the same problem every in-house milling practice has: expensive CEREC blocks living in a drawer, scattered across counters, and nowhere near as organized as the $50,000 machine they fed into every day.
There was no good solution on the market. Drawer organizers that couldn't hold the full inventory. Counter trays that took up precious space. Nothing designed specifically for how a milling room actually works.
Ryan Hensley, owner of JJ Designs in Cornelius, NC, heard the problem and did what fabricators do — he built a solution. Using the same precision CNC routing and laser engraving equipment he runs daily, Ryan designed a wall-mounted display system purpose-built for CEREC milling blocks: clear cast acrylic, solid brass standoffs, and a custom-engraved logo panel that makes the milling room look as professional as the restorations coming out of it.
The Block Buddy isn't a startup idea. It's a shop-floor solution made by someone who machines things for a living — built to last, built to fit, and built because a real dental practice needed it.
Every Block Buddy is cut, drilled, and assembled at JJ Designs. Not overseas. Not outsourced. Right here in the Carolinas.
